It's only half an hour each way, in the absolut center of London, and not that late at all when going back. But still I cannot help reflecting upon the fact, that being able to walk around on your own, in the evening, in a foreign country, being able to find your way, and feeling safe, that's actually something worth being grateful for.
My second day in London, and stubbornly insisting on walking back and forth from the workshops.

In London working with organisational cultural change - and thought it would be really nice to live local like last time, and found an Airbnb place 5 minutes walk from the venue. Ending up waiting in vain for the girl who were supposed the rent out her apartment, and finding out that a man is living in the announced flat, and he knows nothing about Airbnb or someone "renting out" his apartement.
Standing there on the street at 20.30, having been up since 3 in the morning, been doing workshop from 9.30-17.30, tired, no place to sleep, and starting to feel cold, and Airbnb doesn't get back to me with the help they promise, even thought I call them four times. But luckily I'm not changing my mobile provider until Friday, so having "3 Like Home" make me able to surf the internet actively when searching for adresses, phone numbers, hotels, and directions. And getting some great help and moral support from two young women at a café, who ends up giving me their number offering me to return, in case I need anything further. Not a good experience but grateful after all for 3. They might connect me poorly at home, but they Absolutely 100% grateful for the opportunity of spending the weekend with my brother. Just the two of us hiking all Saturday and "camping" on the beach. A beautiful Friday and my daughter joined me for at late afternoon to the beach - and a swim. Grateful for every aspects of this little trip! Never ever thought I would find accounting fun!!!! Stayed up till 2 am doing just that - and enjoyed it!
Honestly. Crazy about this software!! This Monday - the first school day after the Summer Holidays, there've been so many wonders, and one gratitude have actually led to another. It's been all about friends. Sending my son of to his first day back to school with his old friend, who's been abroad and missed dearly, for three years. Feeling touched and warm. A close friend is going to the second hospital check, but is told there were no cancer. It was false alarm. Tears of relief and great feeling of gratitude striks later in the morning. Checking up on another close friend, and her daughter is all right. Feeling relieved and thankful in the late afternoon, and yet another friend just got this absolutely amazing job, after a tough but really dedicated job hunt, and great happiness strikes late at night.
It's been a really good day!!! I am definitely bragging. I did not rise with the sun or get up with the birds. But it felt like it!
Got out of bed early for a Sunday to drive my son to a football match, and found went to the beach for a swim afterwards, all by myself. No one there, but the birds before me. My Saturday gratitude goes to the bravery of my son. Being the youngest on his team, fairly new in the game, and starting a new season guarding the really large "adult goal" for the first time, he had literally goose bumps on his arms, when I dropped him off at the stadion. When I came back he had been assigned "man of the match", and I brought back a boy who had grown quite a few inches in just a few hours.
