Passing this gate. Allowing this red color to make me feel grateful - for some reason I don't even understand myself.
However understanding the concept is not important. The feeling is plentiful.
Grateful for being able to feel joy in tiny little things.

Finding this heart hidden deep in the middel of thick onion layers. Finding this song by Kaya on Spotify: "Shower the people you love with love. Show them the way you feel. Better shower the people you love with love."
Feeling grateful for the capacity to love! Getting the garden ready for winter.
Gazing at this clover bought while spending holidays in our friends' cottage. Have a warm flash back to the feeling of Summer, and being grateful for friends like ours! Spending the entire day cooking for a group of girlfriends, coming over for dinner tonight.
Don't have to do anything today, but cooking for them. Playing loud music in my kitchen. Spending lots of extra time kneading the dough for the starters, enjoying the firmness of the dough under my palms. Feeling joy when watching the beautiful stack of blueberries for the dessert, and getting high on Indian spices, when roasting them on a warm frying pan for the main corse. Grateful for the feeling of intense happiness. Grateful for being able to be home when this little-big girl returns from school. Being 15 but looking like a 6 year old at this very moment. Sore throat, not feeling well at all... and afraid to miss out on a party tonight...
I've no idea why this structure can make me grateful, but it does. And has done for years.
Not every time, I pass, but just on some days. Looking like a painting when passing by, walking the dog. Cannot resist letting my fingers slide over the surface. Love the colors, and love the sensation under my fingertips. Once again finding joy and gratitude in something as simple as the sight of ingredients from the organic webshop www.aarstiderne.com
These moment are absolutely magic.
Missing summer and spring, but this is one of the wonderful gifts of fall and winter. |
