When I was younger I promised myself I would never ever be part of the traditional 12.5 year celebration of a wedding.
That tradition was the one of older Danish generations. Not mine.
I have actually said "never ever" quite a few times in my younger days, just to learn later on in life that these are words I cannot use with certainty.
And here I am, waking up at five to celebrate the love of these two wonderful people who actually was dragged right out of bed. And whom both seem to appreciate us being there - at least after a short while.
And to my big surprise I actually liked it a lot!
And because of a wedding that took place 12.5 years ago, I started my day today feeling grateful before 6 a.m.
Feeling grateful to be included in the amazing preparations done by some really great and caring neighbors, whom had just learned about the anniversary two days earlier.
Grateful for knowing these two warm and wonderful people, and being able to celebrating their love to each other.
That's actually one heck of a way to welcome the dawn of a bright new day.
