I have never been fond of running. Enjoy a lot of sports, but running have never been my thing.
Lately when trying, it's been a struggle. And trying out 4 pairs of shoes with different pains, as a result of each pair of shoes, haven't made my passion for running any deeper.
But then today I had my second run within four days in these old shoes, and no pain Saturday, and no pain today.
I am overly excited!!!
When everyone else around me are running a marathon, doing an ironman or a triathlon, it's kind of wimpy to be outstripped, on a 5 kilometer, by snails and other fast paced creatures, I know! BUT, I almost enjoyed my run today, and I definitely loved it afterwards!! And no pain anywhere :-)))) Not even relationship pain. I ran with my husband both times, which is normally not a very good idea since we're both quite competitive, but we made it quite well actually - both of us ;-)
I don't expect that I'll now turn into "a runner". That would be way too presumptuous, but today I'll just stick to the fact that I am very grateful for my body, and the fact that I am actually able to run. And then in sequence of that, another thought struck me; I am actually also very grateful for my age. I am 44 which is not really young, but on the other hand it doesn't feel old at all either. Especially not on a day like this. It's actually a really really wonderful age!!
And that's my gratitude today.
