Waiting for the 7.27 train at the station at 7.24 a.m.
Closing my eyes, while feeling the warmth of the sun.
Hearing a blackbird singing.

Catching gratitude doesn't have to take more than a very few minutes.

I love the simplicity of your posts. I am the medical provider for Peace Corps Volunteers in Cameroon and have been "pushing" gratitude in the weekly newsletters that I send to the volunteers and staff. I'm not sure if it will have big effect but if it changes a few attitudes I'll be thrilled. It's sure making a change for me.

Dear Angela. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I am very glad that you like the simplicity of my posts, and that it has inspired you!! I have now read you blog http://www.sanitasjournal.com as well, and I am quite sure that you're already inspiring your readers as well. And as you mentioned; while trying to inspire others it does indeed change something for ourselves as well. Today is my 143. gratitude-day in this “blog-project” I’ve set up on my website, and it’s remarkable how much you can focus your attention and how much you attention defines your perception! It’s not that I did not feel grateful before, but it seems as if there is SO much more to feel grateful for this year - even though I know for a fact that had I not focused on gratitude each and every day this year, the first 4 month of 2015 would have felt very different indeed.

And like you say “Recognizing the good things in our life, no matter how insignificant it may be, changes our mind’s focus. This doesn’t mean that life is perfect; it doesn’t ignore complaints, burdens, and hassles. But when we look at life as a whole, gratitude encourages us to identify some amount of goodness in our life and the bad things are softened by the acknowledgement of the positive parts…”

I also like you comment; “Just like love, gratitude is one of the positive emotions that gets lost in the shuffle of work, family, and the daily minutiae. This happens because we don’t stop, take a breath, and look around.”

Thanks you for getting in touch, and for inspiring me back :-) And thank you for the work and effort you and your colleagues are doing! I read you website, and the work of is indeed impressive!
