While my husband is in France, hiking on a glacier with a group friends, my children are having 9 teenage friends in the house for a sleep-over, so the dog and I chose to sneak out yesterday to spend the evening and night at my mother in law, to leave them on their own.
Grateful that I have my mother in law living just 3 minutes away by foot!
If I could choose freely. Having all the mother in laws in the world lined up side by side, and I was told to just pick anyone. My choice entirely. Then I wouldn't hesitate for a second. I would choose her.
She's clever and worldly-wise, sensitive and strong, inspirational and brave, a wonderful support, a strong conversational partner and exceptionally embracing. Like really exceptionally good at embracing everything she hears, sees, experience and meet in her life.
When walking the dog early in the morning, while she was preparing breakfast, and passing by this little stream in the small forest right next to her house, I wasn't in doubt. Gratitude approached me early today!
