A sunny winter afternoon.
Totally absorbed in work.
When suddenly the intense smell of these flowers, standing on the table to my right, hits my senses with full blown power and conviction.
So persuasive they were that I just had to move these yellow wonders closer. Very much closer. Lowering my face all the way to their middle, inhaling the smell and feeling absolutely intoxicated.
My mother lost her sense of smell entirely almost twenty years ago.
They say sometimes you don't really appreciate things until they're gone.
I think my "smell-sations" grew even stronger when my mother lost hers. As if I wanted to smell life for both of us.
Feeling grateful for this "disturbance" today, and doing my very best to transfer the amazing smell of yellow to her.
