Sometimes life is not the easy ride that you would have liked it to be.
Sometimes it can seem as if life has a lesson for you, and even when you accept the challenge, even when you adapt and learn, extended learnings just seem to be added.
My gratitude blog is not an expression of my life being an easy ride at the moment. On the contrary.
The last two years - actually from approximately this date two years ago - my personal life has been quite challenging and demanding. Focusing on gratitude has been a great tool in my personal survival kit, and a welcoming energizer at times when it could be much easier to focus on problems, conflicts or stubling stones. My experience has certainly been that focusing on gratitude doesn't make you lose focus on what has to be done!
It merely gives you the strength to continue to stretch yourself beyond what you think you can do.
And you're never the only one who has to stretch yourself!
I was reminded of that when I noticed this snowdrop-lookalike in the middle of my lavender bed in my front garden.
This sweet fellow might be a late bloomer. He is however the tallest snowdrop I have ever seen.
Growing to his normal size would never have allowed him the light he requires, so he must have left the end of his comfort zone and decided to stretch himself to the height of a full grown tulip.
Grateful for being reminded of what's really possible if we stretch ourselves.
