My celebration today came in the middle of the day, while practicing my smiling-to-strangers-project. I held back at a cross road letting a women in her mid 60s pass while smiling at her. Instead of crossing the road as expected, she then approached me clearly wanted to say something. I turned down the window. "I just have to acknowledge you for your kind gesture. You are the first woman who has actually stopped her car to let me pass. Normally it's only men how do that", she said. We exchanged smiles and a few words, and reached out for each others hands for a few seconds, before I had to move on. But her face remained with me for the rest of the trip.
Grateful for interactions.
Even though I had to skip the rich local midsummer celebration tonight.
